Soa mais como um pesadelo, mas James Tobin insiste, mesmo quando ele está cruzando Venice Beach e encontra "artistas de ruas, fisiculturistas e papagaios me xingando", ainda está vivendo um sonho.
E enquanto em Los Angeles, o garoto do tempo está tendo um tempo com a ex Pussycat Doll e ultra-flexível cantora-barra-dançarina Jessica Sutta, com quem ele tem um relacionamento a distância.
"É mágico, é perfeito" ele diz de LA, onde ele está de férias desde sua reportagem sobre as Olimpíadas em Londres. Veja bem, ele gosta de fazer muito mais do que só falar sobre meterologia - ele tem entrevistas com Tim Burton, Alice Cooper e Ke$ha, entre outros. O título de correspondente em LA combina bem com Tobin, que é a estrela da revista Maxim deste mês.
"Estou aqui para ver a Jess, sério. Tem sido uns meses loucos", ele diz sobre seu romance com Sutta, que começou com um encontro às cegas num jogo de basquete organizado por um amigo.
"Existe muita gente por aí que tem um relacionamento a distância. Claro que não é a situação ideal, e você não escolheria isso se tivesse como escolher, mas você não pode fazer nada quando as cartas caem e a situação aparece você tem que lidar com isso. Nós temos feito um ótimo trabalho em termos feito isso funcionar bem. O fato de que nós dois temos nossos trabalhos e nossas carreiras que necessitam que viajemos tem funcionado bem."
It sounds more like a nightmare, but James Tobin insists that even though he is cruising Venice Beach among the ''buskers, bodybuilders and parrots that are swearing at me'', he is living the dream.
And while in Los Angeles, the Sunrise weatherman is having some up-close time with former Pussycat Doll and ultra-flexible singer-slash-dancer Jessica Sutta, with whom he has a long-distance romance.
''It's magic, perfect,'' he says from LA, where he has been holidaying since his reporting stint at the London Olympics. Mind you, he enjoys doing more than just talking meteorology - he has interviews with Tim Burton, Alice Cooper and Ke$ha lined up, among others. The title of LA correspondent evidently sits well with Tobin, who is this month's Maxim magazine style star.
''I'm here to see Jess, really. It's been a crazy couple of months,'' he says of his romance with Sutta, which started on a blind date to a basketball game organised by a friend.
''There are a lot of people out there who have done the long-distance thing. It's certainly not the ideal situation, and you wouldn't choose it if you had a choice, but you can't help where the cards fall and when the situation arises you deal with it. We've done a pretty good job of making it work. The fact we both have jobs and careers that lend themselves to travel has worked well.''
